Are you looking to make the most out of your camping trip(s) this year? So are we. This week we’re going to give you some tips and tricks to make 2019 your best camping season yet! There’s a lot to explore out there, and if you’re the adventuring type this is the perfect article for you. We’ll look at some ways to differ your experiences so you can make the most out of the outdoors in 2019. Let’s get started!
This seems obvious, doesn’t it? Of course we’d like to get outside more often than we do, but things tend to get in the way. Summer always flies by and we’re left wondering where it all went. This year let’s resolve to plan our trips early, to let our employers know when we’ll be gone ahead of time, to plan quick weekend getaways and take some time outdoors for ourselves. When you plan things out and write them down you tend to actually do them.
Combine Camping with Something New
It’s time to expand our horizons! Instead of going through your normal camping routine, try something new this year. Maybe take the bikes along or try fishing. Go for a canoe ride or try spelunking. There are all sorts of wonderful activities you’ve probably never thought of trying but you’ll actually love. Be open to new experiences and your camping life will be much more fun.
Explore a Different Area
Do you always camp in the same spots? While we all have our favorites, let’s resolve to try somewhere new this year. The U.S.A. is full of hidden gems just waiting to be explored. Go to a state you’ve never been to before and chances are you’ll be surprised at how much it has to offer.
Camp in Different Seasons
Many of us reserve our camping for the summer when we know we’re not going to freeze to death. Well, we’re missing out. Spring, fall and winter offer all sorts of different activities and camping fun. These seasons are also much less crowded and really give you the opportunity to explore nature. You’ll have to trust us but there’s nothing like a winter camping getaway!
Take Someone Camping Who’s Never Been Before
Some people just don’t want to camp, and of course that’s fine. You and I know, however, that they’re missing out on some wonderful experiences. People often have misconceptions about camping, i.e. it’s too cold, it’s uncomfortable, it’s boring, there are bugs, etc. Show someone the truth. You’ll both be rewarded.
Write About Your Memories
It’s easier than ever to take pictures, and we’d venture to say you probably do on your camping trips. That’s great, but why not try something new? Maybe take a journal along and write about your excursion. Be vivid in the details. What did the trail smell like? What animals did you see and hear? Writing captures personal memories better than anything and allows you to look back on your trips with startling recall.
Here’s to hoping you’re as excited about 2019 camping as we are. As always, give us a call at (800) 231-0425 or visit us at MidwestOutdoorResorts.com and we’ll be happy to help plan your next adventure today. Happy exploring!
